"... To synthesize my learning experience in a word, all these elements together made it unique!"

AIT Functional Test Playload Engineer
Thales Alenia Space at the European Space Agency
"Given my education background in physics, and in particular astrophysics, I decided to acquire also a high level formal educationin space engineering. The fact that the structure of the course was divided into two parts: an academic one followed by an internship, allowed me to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge on the subject. Such mixing is also strengthened by the fact that courses are taught both by academic fellows, as well as by field experts belongingto the industrial sector. Finally, in order to assimilate better the concepts learned in class, we have also made some visits upon severalcompanies/centers where we were able to observe how the notions learned throughout the year were applied in real situations. To synthesize my learning experience in a word, all these elements together made it unique.
Thanks to my previous experience, together with that obtained through the lessons, I had the opportunity to made a six months internship at Selex Galileo in Florence which has been a precious chance to boost my professional career. In fact, since August 2014, I have been involved with the "Bepi Colombo" project with Thales Alenia Space upon the European Space Agency (ESA). In particular, I have been working as an AIT payload functional test engineer being co-responsible of the functional tests on all the scientific payloads mounted on the spacecraft. "
